P.E. is all year round until grade 9. 10 -12 Phys.Ed is provided only once per semester. Most high schools have fitness rooms available for students to work out during their spares and after/before school hours. Some even have pools. Schools provide sports teams after school hours where teachers volunteer thier time for the students.

Also, most schools in Canada do not have the soda pop available at school in the machines anymore and stock them with juice and water. Our school even provides a home made nutricious lunch every day for only $2.00.

My point is that Schools provide healthy choices and opportunities that alot of kids don't take advantage of and schools should not be held responsible because of this.
Parents need to take responsiblilty for their kids and put them in sports programs outside school if they are concerned for their child's fitness levels. Provide your child with healthy lunches at school, don't give them money for the pop machine and feed them right at home.

Imagine that, a parent parenting and being responsible for their child. A rare thing these days when everyone prefers to point their finger at someone else.
