I can attest to the hardships as I am raising my 6 year old Granddaughter and it is a task. I love her dearly and I am happy that she has a safe place to live. They recently cancelled my child care and now I have. I work full time and she has to be in after care it has been a burden. Now Summer is approaching and she has to be in day care all day. I know if she was in foster care that this would be paid for and they would also give me a clothing allowance etc.etc.etc,it just does not make much sense. I would do anything to see that she stays with me and not have to go anywhere else. Her Mother is a drug addict and rarely checks in. The Father is supposed to pay child support and he is in arrears to the tune of $9,000 and you would think he would be forced to pay and I have received nothing. I vented and feel better. I see that the State of Florida has some issues that they are voting on this week. It is always the rich that benefit from these type of things.
