Adolescence may seem like a confusing time, but in fact the basic tasks of adolescent development and the basic tenets for parenting adolescents are clear, according to this 2001 Harvard University publication. Among the developmental tasks of adolescence are adjusting to sexually maturing bodies and feelings, establishing identity and developing new coping skills.
