San Francisco Segregation Order (1906)Apr 18 2007 - 12:00pm Etc/GMT+5 On April 18, 1906, San Francisco experienced what has come to be known as the “great earthquake.” The San Francisco Board of Education immediately ordered the segregation of 73 Japanese students attending the city’s public schools, joining Chinese students who had been segregated since 1869.
