Who's Raining on Your Fourth of July Parade?

Are you going to the Fourth of July parade? Well, Congress has already rained on it. Here's how:

As of July 1 students starting out for college, and many of those still paying off those college loans, will have to pay much higher interest rates, thanks to the budget deal Congress made to cut spending for student aid while expanding tax cuts for investments.

Here's another one:
To accommodate federal spending cuts for Medicaid for low-income patients and children, Congress passed amendments requiring families to show documents verifying their citizenship status. According to the Child Welfare League of America, recent guidance from the Department of Health and Human Services could mean the denial of medical and mental health services to children in foster care.

And while the Senate had to take time out from their busy schedule to debate an amendment to protect our flag, there has been precious little debate over how to protect our planet from the winds and rains of global warming, which the National Academcy of Sciences has just proclaimed is really, really real.
