Dr. Butts has 25 years of experience in research, policy analysis, and direct service programs for at-risk children and youth. His recent projects have investigated the effectiveness of teen courts and juvenile drug courts, and the methods used by state agencies to anticipate changing juvenile corrections populations. He is currently working on an evaluation of a national demonstration project to develop new ways of coordinating substance abuse services for youth involved in the juvenile justice system.
