The Texas Kids Count project is working to build a better understanding of the conditions facing all children in Texas. The Center for Public Policy Priorities is now hosting a comprehensive database of indicators of child well-being. The data are used to produce fact books and other analyses on the status of children in Texas. In addition to the fact books, the Texas Kids Count Project is producing a series of special reports.

The Council on Children and Families was established in Executive Law in 1977 to improve and strengthen services to children and families provided at the state and local levels by public and private organizations. This is accomplished through better coordination between and among service providers and supervisory agencies; more meaningful accountability; improved selection, implementation, supervision and evaluation of services; better management and research capabilities; and useful mechanisms to resolve interagency conflicts regarding the provision of services.

Founded in 1987, New Mexico Voices for Children is a research-based public education advocacy organization that works statewide to promote the well-being of New Mexico's children, youth and families. Our work promotes three core values:

Economic Justice
Healthy Communities
Citizen Participation

We work on a wide range of policy issues at the state leven, and operate a number of community-based programs to promote access to affordable health care, develop the leadership of youth, protect abused and neglected children, and decrease substance abuse and promote healthy communities.

Family Connection Partnership serves as a catalyst for improving results for Georgia's children, families and communities

Our vision is for Georgia's children to be healthy, ready to start and perform better in school, and have stable, economically self-sufficient families.

Family Connection Partnership is a public/private partnership created by the State of Georgia and funders from the private sector. We assist communities in addressing the serious challenges facing Georgia's children and families. We also serve as a resource to state agencies across Georgia that work to improve the conditions of children and families.

The Center, located at the University of South Florida's Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute, serves to centralize research, public education, and outreach activities benefiting the citizens of Florida. Our efforts include maintaining a repository of statistical data, the development of child well-being indicators, providing technical assistance and consultation services, linkage to comprehensive policy analysis, and research in program development. The Florida KIDS COUNT project is one of the activities here in the Center. The Casey Foundation support KIDS COUNT projects in more than 50 areas of the United States to raise public awareness and accountability for the condition of kids and families.

The mission of the D.C. Children's Trust Fund is to foster the well-being of the District's children and their families by leading the way toward the prevention of child abuse and neglect. The Trust serves as a catalyst for prevention efforts by leveraging private and governmental resources, providing resources and technical assistance to community-based organizations, schools, and churches to strengthen families and thereby reduce the risk of child abuse. A major objective of the Trust is to define and develop standards for primary prevention for the D.C. community at-large.

KIDS COUNT in Delaware is one of fifty-one similar projects throughout the United States funded by The Annie E. Casey Foundation. Through this project housed at the University of Delaware in the Center for Community Research and Service, we bring together the best available data to measure health, economic, educational and social well-being of children in Delaware.

This effort is joined with Govenor Minner's commitment to children and families through the Families Count initiative, which expands upon the ten core tracking indicators of National KIDS COUNT.

KIDS COUNT is a state and national effort funded by the Casey Foundation to track the status of children. KIDS COUNT Alaska provides citizens and policymakers with current data needed to make informed decisions about priorities, services, and resources affecting Alaska's children, families, and communities.
