Organizations, Child Safety & ProtectionOur mission is to recruit and train community volunteers to stand up in court for abused and neglected children. The Center for Children is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse through intervention, counseling and education. We empower children and their families to heal the wounds of abuse. PCHCF keeps children experiencing homelessness connected to their education, through funding for transportation, school supplies, uniforms, tutoring and enrichment opportunities. People Against Abuse and Neglect of Children International is a grass roots organization of concerned persons from the fields of child protection, child advocacy, and private citizens who want to see the end of child abuse and neglect from all levels. By employing systematic and adequately funded public education campaigns, the Every Child Matters Education Fund provide opportunities for focusing public attention on important children's issues including the prevention of child abuse and neglect, improving the health of low-income children, and finding solutions in child care, early childhood education, after-school programs, and responsible decisions on federal budget and tax issues. The Child Welfare League of America is the nation's oldest and largest membership-based child welfare organization. We are committed to engaging people everywhere in promoting the well-being of children, youth, and their families, and protecting every child from harm. The Adoptive Parents Committee of Long Island (APC) is a volunteer organization that is dedicated to providing adoption information, support and education. We are knowledgeable about all types of adoption, including domestic infant adoption, international adoption, and adoption through the foster care system. Monthly meetings with workshops on both pre- and post- adoption topics are free and open to the public. The mission of this organization is to help youth who have experienced trauma develop into healthy and responsible people. Y-US provides peer support programs which promote positive youth development. The mission of this organization is to find and support foster and adoptive families, and to educate communities of the Capital Region of New York State about the need for foster and adoptive homes. Family Support Line works to keep children and families safe from the harm of child sexual abuse and other family trauma through comprehensive prevention education programs and to promote healing through specialized treatment services.
