media accounts suggest that they are. But a new Brookings
report concludes otherwise; and the author warns
that many teens aren;t getting enough homework
to properly prepare for college-level work.
Each year, about 5,000 children are taken to emergency rooms across the country suffering injuries resulting from carrying heavy backpacks.
