Improving CommunitiesTo promote the well-being of North Dakota children through data-based public awareness activities encouraging policy decisions that enhance the capacity of communities to provide the support networks families need to successfully raise their children. Founded in 1987, New Mexico Voices for Children is a research-based public education advocacy organization that works statewide to promote the well-being of New Mexico's children, youth and families. Our work promotes three core values: Economic Justice We work on a wide range of policy issues at the state leven, and operate a number of community-based programs to promote access to affordable health care, develop the leadership of youth, protect abused and neglected children, and decrease substance abuse and promote healthy communities. The Children's Alliance of New Hampshire is a statewide, nonprofit advocacy organization with over a decade of experience working on behalf of the health and well being of the children of this state. Our mission statement describes both our vision and our purpose: The Mississippi Forum on Children and Families provides community resource development through information, education, and training. The Forum is using education, research, and demonstration in the areas of early childhood education and care, child health, youth development, employment preparation and family support. The Forum has four primary objectives: Establishment of quality programs Children's Defense Fund (CDF) was founded in 1973 by Marian Wright Edelman to provide a strong and effective voice for the children of America, since they cannot vote, hire lobbyists, or speak out for themselves. Massachusetts Citizens for Children (MCC) was founded in 1959 by Dr. Martha May Eliot, an internationally recognized pediatrician and chief of the US Children's Bureau (1951 - 1956). We are a non-profit statewide child advocacy organization, whose mission is to improve the lives of the state's most vulnerable children through advocacy by concerned citizens. MCC is the source that citizens and the media turn to for an independent view of events, legislative issues or public policies affecting and their families. We are independent of political, partisan, and government organizations. Advocates for Children and Youth (ACY) was founded in 1987 by a group of prominent child advocates in Maryland who saw the need for an independent organization to advocate for the needs of the state's children and families in the community, the media and the public policy arena. ACY's mission has remained unchanged since its founding--to identify problems, promote policies and programs that improve results for Maryland children in measurable and meaningful ways, and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and policies for the state's children and youth. The agency's goals include ensuring that children have access to: The Maine Children's Alliance is a strong, powerful voice for children, youth and families and provides leadership to create or change policy on their behalf. The Maine Children's Alliance collects the voices and data of various organizations, develops, promotes and advocates a substantive strategic plan including desired outcomes to insure positive change for children and their families. The Child and Family Policy Center was established in 1989 by former Iowa Legislator Dr. Charles Bruner to better link research and policy on issues vital to children and families, and to advocate for outcome-based policies to improve child well-being. The Center was founded by Tanager Place, a charitable organization in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) is a leading source of information and tools for nonprofit Indiana youth organizations. We also reach educators, policymakers, government officials, and others who can impact the lives of Hoosier children and promote healthy youth development in Indiana communities. IYI's programs and services are organized into three areas: useful information, practical tools, and the promotion of positive youth development. |
